my debut single COUCH is out now!

i am overjoyed to finally be able to say this – my first single “couch” is available to stream. everywhere. now. 💐

i wrote couch in late summer of 2021 after a strong and sudden heartbreak. it was instrumental in my healing process (no pun intended), and i even sang the third verse for my therapist during a session. she said it was very insightful.

i posted live versions on tiktok and instagram that fall and received overwhelming love and empathy from listeners. it’s amazing how songs that are so specific and personal can still resonate deeply with others.

i performed it for over a year with the intention to make it my first single, but the dream wouldn’t become a reality until i moved to new york, where a friend introduced me to a friend who introduced me to a friend who was a producer. that friend, justin mayo, turned out to be a talented and intelligent sweetie pie who not only breathed full dynamic life into the song but genuinely believed in its merit and potential. i’m so grateful for that. 💛

anyone who knows me knows that i’ve always been a singer-songwriter, and that being a published and produced recording artist was the biggest milestone i had never achieved. now, i can make ten-year-old rita proud.
